Sirris acquired in 2005 the licence to manufacture magnesium parts by Thixomolding®, aiming to provide technical expertise and service to the industries.

To achieve the technological transfer a partner had to be searched.

In 2007 Mag&Al Technologies S.A. was founded for the industrial and commercial developments of this unknown technology in Europe.

This new company is a subsidiary of the Light Alloys Group active for 3 generations in the foundry business.

The first Thixomolding projects started in 2008 and today Mag&Al produces parts for the optic, textile and measurement industries.

The growing interest for magnesium in Europe is the best guaranty that this technology has a bright future.
